Yesterday, Friday the 13th, we were supposed to go to my good friend Andrea's house (Royal Family), for a play date with her and her son, David, as well as her sister, Lara and her 2 boys, Ben and Will. Andrea sent me an e-mail in the morning saying she had to cancel because David fell off of her bed in the middle of the night onto their hardwood floors and bumped his head pretty good, so they just needed to rest all day. I responded with, "I just realized it is Friday the 13th, I hope its not going to be one of those days!!" And most of the day ended up being fine! I'll elaborate later! I'm making a little edit here, because after reading my post, I realized that I didn't add that David is just fine! He just needed to rest all day and didn't need more kids there getting him to run around ,etc!
We went to my grandmother's house in Athens for my Aunt Laura's 50th birthday party, and it was going fine. The kids were a little rambunctious, but they always are. We ate dinner, talked, had cake and ice cream, all the normal birthday stuff. Avery was pretty good. I got a cute pic of her and Wiz:
Evan was not so sweet with Wiz:
Because Evan was screaming and throwing fits, I picked him up to leave the room, and I did this by lifting him by his hands, which I have done numerous times before, and didn't do it very hard, even. As soon as I picked him up he started crying and holding his arm and he wouldn't let me lift it or anything. After about 30 min or so, I decided that I needed to take him to the ER, because God only knew what was hurting him. At first I thought it was his wrist, because that is where he was holding it, but he was also holding his arm close to him, and if I tried to raise it up, he screamed and cried more. Well, wouldn't you know, as soon as I signed in, he was acting fine. Playing, laughing, and raising both arms equally! I still waited and saw the Dr. just in case. He said it was most likely Nursemaid's Elbow, where I pulled his radius bone out of the joint at the elbow, and sometimes they need to be put back, or sometimes they will go back in on their own. Regardless, Evan had an injury and a trip to the ER on Friday the 13th!!!! I knew something bad would happen!

Yeah, isn't that crazy how both our kids got hurt (but not too bad thank goodness) on Friday the 13th? I'm not "superstitious" per say but I bet the ER begs to differ. My mom always says things are always a little crazier at work when there is a full moon...
Nursemaid's Elbow is exactly what happened to Marley, and apparently once it happens, the child is prone to have it happen again and again. I think Hill said it's happened to Marley like 4 or 5 more times, so be careful!
Hopefully you're air situation is better. I feel so bad for recommending that company to you guys!
Full moon is tonight, Andrea, hope that doesn't mean anything!!!
Jess-I'm really careful not to pick him up like that anymore, cause I was afraid that it might happen again!! and again, not your fault about the A/C guys!!
Just like I said on Jason's blog, I have been reading these every day at work, and just now figured out how to leave a comment, so...HI!! Good luck tomorrow, even though I am sure I will speak to you again before then!! Love ya!
